Edmund Bennett designed and built Carderock Springs in the 1960’s. In 2009 the neighborhood was officially listed on the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places. The residents include over 400 homes which were built in the 1960’s style of ‘situated modernism’ where the natural landscape dominates the built environment. Eric has had numerous friends and family members live here and taken advantage of the local trails and community pool. Most summer evenings you will find Eric at the Market on the Boulevard which is a local Gourmet Delicatessen and Beer & Wine shop located half a mile down Seven Locks Road. This residential area is located just south of TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, and though it is close to 495, it attracts none of the traffic of the nearby cities. Within Carderock is the Naval Surface Warfare Center, which creates an environment that fosters a community that values a strong education, science and technology.
