Glover Park is a neighborhood in Washington, D.C. just north of Georgetown, west of Wisconsin Avenue, and cradled by the parklands of Glover-Archbold Park and Whitehaven Park. Although the neighborhood is located in the city, it encompasses a suburban feel with long blocks of quaint townhomes and single family homes, most of which are usually 3-5 bedroom, mixed with an urban vibe of restaurants and commercial retailers. Some of which include Surfsides, a rooftop bar overlooking the city, Town Hall, a lively sports bar, Arcuri, an italian place known for its brick-oven pizza, Rocklands, a local favorite spot to get ribs and other amazing BBQ dishes, Pearson’s Wine and Spirit, the go-to liquor store, and Bread Soda, an American-style basement bar with pool, shuffleboard, Wii, darts & board games. When you’re not dining out, you can enjoy dinner at home after stopping by Safeway – the most popular grocery store in the area. If you’re trying to burn off some of the calories from the extensive dining options of the area, be sure to stop by Corepower Yoga for a well-rounded workout. And of course if you need to clean clothes after Corepower, Georgetown Valet is open as the most convenient Dry Cleaner’s in the area. The area is also home to plenty of community parks, playgrounds, and parks whether it’s time to let the kids run around or cool down by enjoying the neighborhood scene. Whitehaven Garden, Archbold Park, and Whitehaven Park remain the local favorites. It’s also good to know that public transportation is readily available for you to get from place to place, with the D2 and D6 lines as great bus options and the Foggy Bottom and Dupont metro stations nearby.
