AU Park

 

Although it looks like a suburban neighborhood, American University Park lies right within the DC city limits. The neighborhood is easily accessible via the metro bus as well as the AU/Tenleytown metro stop which commutes red line riders. AU Park is mainly residential besides the Spring Valley Shopping Center, a small strip mall along Massachusetts Avenue. Here, residents can grab a bite to eat at Millie’s, a New England style restaurant serving ice cream, Le Pain Quotidien, a charming Belgian Cafe, or Waghsal’s, a casual American style restaurant and grocery store. AU Park provides locals with a downtown vibe while also providing access to various public parks, playgrounds, and a sense of community.
