Last week, we joined 1,500 Compass colleagues in New Orleans to exchange ideas, reconnect with friends, and bring home fresh perspectives on how we can better serve our clients.
We were also reminded how fortunate we are. We love working with our amazingly talented and creative colleagues, and as we compared notes with folks from across the country, we are certain our clients are simply the best.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we want to thank you for your friendship, trust and referrals. And for those of you who laugh at our jokes, a special thank you (we know who you are!).
Our local real estate market could use a little zip in its step.
Where we are: Mortgage rates climbed back above 7% this fall for the first time since early 2025, and that's put a chill on transaction volume. Cash is king.
Where we're headed: We expect activity to tick up after this week's elections, as some uncertainty clears, and we hope to build on that momentum heading into the 2027 spring selling season.
What it means for you: Buyers, you'll face less competition now than you will in April. Sellers, well-priced, well-prepared homes are still selling — the market is just less forgiving of wishful thinking. Either way, we're happy to talk strategy.
Stay up to date on the latest real estate trends.
