Last week, Steve and I went to Franklin, Tennessee where we attended the annual "The 100" event. The 100 is an "invitation-only" network of Compass's top 100 agents from across the country, out of more than 30,000. The 100 was started in 2022 and Steve and I have been fortunate to have been members since its inception in 2022. At the event, we were able to discuss industry perspectives with the Compass CEO Robert Reffkin and collaborate with the 100 top agents from across the country. Collectively, The 100 represents over $30 billion in annual sales. To put that in context, if The 100 were a stand-alone brokerage, it would rank as the 6th largest in the country—not too shabby!
For our clients, this means two things: first, we’re constantly learning from and collaborating with the very best agents across the country to ensure our marketing stays cutting-edge and results-driven. After three years of record-low turnover, economic fundamentals are falling into place for a strong 2026. With the stock market hovering near all-time highs and interest rates dropping, we are increasingly optimistic for next year, with the one economic caveat being job insecurity, especially for our friends and neighbors most impacted by government cutbacks.
One interesting observation. Investors believe that insiders buying their company's stock is a bullish sign, as insiders know the business best and see value before the crowd does. If that translates to real estate, then good news! Three of our teammates, myself included, have purchased properties in the past few months. We like what we see ahead and are putting our money where our expertise is.
